About Us

       The story of Kovinno is the story of a perfect storm. For such a storm, a lot of individual conditions all have to align, all of their own reasons, all on their own time, and all brought together in the perfect fashion to brew something powerful. Kovinno came about like that. So many factors of things gone very right and very wrong, all in their own time, to come together perfectly to create something new. There are many more influences that I won’t list today, but here are some of the major players.

       Closures from Coronavirus swept the nation in March, which was the catalyst for many things across the country and world. As a Professional Triathlete and full time Triathlon Coach, my world was turned over. Races were canceled, and many of my clients were distracted by the pandemic’s effects and were not very focused on training without any races on the visible horizon. Day care also shut down, giving me the responsibility of being a full time dad. While watching my son I was unable to engage with my clients well to keep them interested despite not having races. I was also unable to put more effort into marketing for new clients to fill the vacancies that were appearing faster than I have ever experienced.

       Watching a baby keeps you from doing many things, but it does leave you with SO MUCH time inside your own head. I needed people to talk to. I was bored and lonely. And I also needed to communicate with my current and potential clients. But how was I supposed to engage on social media and on my computer with my son around? He doesn’t mind me on phone calls or video chat, but much time with me looking at social media or being on the computer doesn’t work for him. I needed a better means of communication.

       This storm, born from the adversity of 2020, screamed for innovation. I had endless time to ponder ideas and eventually that led to something new. A solution grew from the spark of an idea, and it soon blossomed into a full fledged business plan with a mission to help people communicate better… more conveniently, and more personably.

Introducing Kovii

       The solution is an app named Kovii, and it’s an availability-based video calling app.

       Kovii makes it easy to call or video call at a good time for everyone. Let others know when it’s a good time for you to take a call. See when others are available for you to call them. With Kovii, it’s always a good time to talk to your friends, family, and other contacts. 

       Group your contacts into Circles, and mark yourself available to which Circles you want, when you want. This offers them a passive invitation to call you.

       Post a status to show others what you’re in the mood to talk about. Your status is displayed only when you’re available, and is seen only by those that you’re available to.

       Set notifications to know when certain contacts become available to you. This is helpful for connecting with your extra busy and hard to reach friends, by happening upon a good time to talk.

       People often worry about intruding on others with a call at a bad time. And this fear prevents people from connecting even when there’s a desire to better keep in touch. But with Kovii, your contacts know when you’re welcoming a call from them. This eliminates any hesitation that might have stopped them from reaching out. Kovii takes away the fear in making calls, which breaks the barriers to meaningfully connect with one another.
